Muster up confidence.
Saunter to me with that face:
A crooked smile and firelight gaze.
You ask me about my tattoos and questions like,
“Who are you?”
“How pretty must your mother be?”
“Are you from overseas?”
Answers to my unspoken questions tumble from your lips. You say you like sacrifice and you’re looking to lay down your life.
Otherworldliness marks your skin and on your lips tugs a grin
It tells me you’re here for trouble so I ask:
You answer without blinking.
“There’s no reason to lie.”
An honest man.
Tell me who you are and all the risks involved.
I’d much rather be entangled with an honest criminal than a preacher who lies.
